Are you overwhelmed by the pace of modern life? Feeling like your to-do list is never-ending? It can be all too easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle and forget to take a break. By taking a few minutes each day to step away from it all and recharge, you can increase your productivity, creativity, and efficiency. 3. Breathing Exercises: How to Maintain Balance and Peace

Balanced breathing is a powerful yet simple way to control your emotional state. It enables us to manage our reactions and stress levels, shift our perspective, focus, and more. Additionally, controlled breathing is a great way to connect with oneself and relax, de-stress and regain balance and peace of mind.

Here are a few impactful breathing techniques for you to use in daily life:

  • Stress Relief – Take an exaggerated deep breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds and release for 7 seconds.
  • Calming Breathing– Take inhales and exhales that are equal lengths, focusing on filling the lungs with goodness.
  • Relaxation– Inhale deeply and count to four, then exhale and count to four; repeat this five times.
  • Meditative– Possessing strong breathing helps to quieten the inner critic and reduce mental chaos; instead, use the practice of even breaths in and out through the nose to ground oneself.

Breathing exercises are a staple in any well-rounded self-care routine. They not only help you maintain balance and peace, but they offer a plethora of additional benefits to your overall health and wellbeing. Taking the time to make breath work part of your daily routine can be a powerful mental and physical reset as well as a great way to wind down and stay calm.
